Connections with other programs

This school year we also began a partnership with the Latina Girls Club at Woodside High School.  This group is under the direction of Dabney Ingram, a Stanford doctoral student.  The mission of this group is leadership development and social support. 

These young women meet with MIT students to answer questions and help them with acculturation into their new community.  The girls spent two class periods with the students this year doing a presentation with questions and answers.  Then the girls met in small groups with the students continuing their dialogue.  The students were especially interested about navigating high school.

We are arranging for several opportunities for the Girls Club to visit with our students in the coming school year.
